Notes on chlorinated polyethylene
Now more and more plastic and rubber products begin to use chlorinated polyethylene. Because they have good heat resistance and improve the melting point of PVC, they also have good anti-aging properties and extend the service life of PVC. Although there are so many advantages, only proper use can produce the corresponding effect of products. So what items do we need to pay attention to when we use this product?
1. Chlorinated polyethylene crystalline material has little moisture absorption, does not need to be fully dried, and its fluidity is sensitive to pressure. It is suitable to use high pressure injection when molding. The material temperature is uniform, the filling speed is fast and the pressure is sufficient. Direct gate should not be used to prevent uneven shrinkage and increase internal stress. Pay attention to the selection of gate location to prevent shrinkage and deformation.
2. Soft plastic parts with shallow side groove can be forced demoulding.
3. The product may be broken, and should not contact with organic solvent to prevent cracking.
4. The shrinkage range and shrinkage value are large, the directivity is obvious, and it is easy to deform and warp. The cooling speed should be slow. The mould should be equipped with cold material hole and cooling system.
5. The heating time of chlorinated polyethylene should not be too long, otherwise it will decompose and burn.
In general, if you want chlorinated polyethylene to play a good role in plastic products, you should pay more attention to the above matters when using, and only the correct use of the product will give play to its performance. But don't put it casually after use. Keep the sealing property of the product and put it in a cool and dry place to prevent volatilization of the product.
